Adventures in Illustrator pt.1

Snowed in during the North Texas Ice-pocalypse of 2013, and in preparation to teach my first college course next semester, I decided to bundle up and hunker down with some of my lesser used Adobe Illustrator functions. Today's adventure: the gradient mesh tool.

Some people go crazy with the gradient mesh tool, spending hundreds of hours to create photo-real portraits and other insanely detailed images. That seems a little excessive to me, but maybe that's because I'm still stuck drawing fruit like a middle school art class still-life exercise. Ah well, to each his own.
