Brad Albright is a Dallas-based gallery artist, poster designer and freelance illustrator best known for his modern approach to ‘OldSchool 3D’ anaglyphic art.
Drawing in a line-art style reminiscent of underground comics and classical woodcut engravings, he is inspired by comic books, album covers, band tees, literature, film and television alike. The thematic influence of pop culture entertainment and narrative storytelling are as evident in the work as are the interplay of traditional drawing techniques and a largely digital toolset.
Whether translating the influences of pop-culture and pinball gaming, exploring the dangers of the Wild West, or celebrating the multi-sensory live music crowd experience, his work is regularly presented in 3D with provided red/blue glasses, surprising and engaging viewers with a nostalgic interactive experience.
Brad earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art & Planning, where he studied Combined Media to join the disciplines of traditional studio art with those of cartooning and animation.
While working as a full-time professional graphic designer, he earned his Master of Fine Arts at Hartford Art School's MFA program in Illustration, assembling award-winning professional artists and teachers from the nation's leading markets. During this time, Brad taught himself his own specialized 3D technique.
In 2018 Brad retired from his long-time position designing officially licensed pop-culture merchandise, making the leap to concentrate 100% on drawing and sharing his work with audiences in Dallas/Ft. Worth and beyond.
His work can be found regularly at Kettle Art Gallery (Dallas), Gallery 1988 (Los Angeles), ZaPOW (Asheville),
and at regular shows, festivals, and outdoor markets in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
